The Omnia Education Partnerships (OEP) led consortium won the Finnish National Agency for Education tender of 1,9 M€ for a 26-month project in the Ukraine. The consortium members are Omnia, the Joint Authority of Education in the Espoo Region, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and Tampere Vocational College Tredu.

This is a sub-project contributing to the EU4Skills Better Skills for Modern Ukraine project co-funded by the European Commission and member states to reform vocational education and training in Ukraine. In addition to Finland, Estonia, Germany and Poland are contributing to EU4Skills. The OEP led consortium is responsible for the development of vocational curricula, vocational teacher training and vocational school manager training.

Due to the pandemic, the project will start online, offering courses, mentoring and virtual visits to Finnish VET schools.  Finland supports the reform of vocational education and training in the Ukraine as a partner, paving the way for a joint learning journey. The goal is to build capacity, support and scale local good practice, ensuring long-term sustainability, ownership and results.

The goals of the project are quite similar to those of the 2018 Finnish VET reform. A vision of competence-based, working life-oriented, high quality VET is something we definitely share. We are therefore very excited about the project, and look forward to developing solutions with high impact, supporting Ukrainian career paths, employment and economic growth” says Mervi Jansson, CEO of OEP.
